Support ITD so I can quit my day job
Posted on March 8th, 2010 in Work | No Comments »I wish my website development career would take off so I could quit my day job. I make barely above minimum wage. I love the department I work in (the deli at a grocery store), but the majority of my co-workers are women over 50 or 60, and they don’t act like adults! I’ve been told on more than one occassion, “Boy… The 19 year old (that’s me) acts more like the adult than they do!”
They gossip, they overreact. I mean, c’mon! You’ve worked at a grocery store for 30 years of your life. I DON’T want that to be me, so please, PLEASE support In The Designs so I can quit my day job lol.
Stupid Shipping
Posted on March 7th, 2010 in Uncategorized | No Comments »I’m very irritated right now!
Late, late Friday night, Kevin and I upgraded his cell phone to a Blackberry for his birthday. It was only $30 with a 2 year contract renewal. We paid $15 for priority overnight shipping which is said to come by 10:30 AM the next day. Here we thought we’d get it on Saturday! Nope. You’re suppose to submit your order by 4:30 PM for overnight shipping. So okay… We’re not thinking we’ll get it 10:30 AM Monday.
I get an email from Verizon today, and it gives me the tracking information from Fedex. I check Fedex’s website, and it’s delivery date is set to Tuesday by 4:30 PM! WHAT?
One, no one will be home, and of course a signature is required. Two, I paid for it to fricken be delivered by 10:30 AM, not 4:30 PM!
I chatted with Verizon. They gave me Fedex’s number. I called Fedex. They told me they do what they’re told from the sender, Verizon. I call Verizon, and was issued a refund for my shipping, however it still won’t arrive until Tuesday afternoon. Let’s hope it arrives before I leave for work. Knowing Fedex though, it’ll arrive JUST as I leave.
God…
Pictures of Chewy!
Posted on March 6th, 2010 in Web Development | 2 Comments »I have pictures of Chewy! Here’s two of them:

He wouldn’t hold still, so all the pictures I have of him so far (which can be found on my MySpace or Facebook) have some part of his body chopped off lol.
And on web design news, I finished a client’s WordPress theme today. Check it out!
Busy, Busy Day
Posted on March 5th, 2010 in Uncategorized | No Comments »Today was such a busy, busy day! I woke up at 9 AM to go to the bank and post office. Stupid ATMÂ was down, so I couldn’t withdrawel money from Kevin’s account for bills. When I got home, Kevin, my roommate, and I went to our house to gather all the scrap metal we had lying around (2 furnaces, a water heater, and more). We did a good deed and recycled (and ended up making $193).
Then we had to pick-up our new (used) king-sized mattress and boxed springs and drop that off at our house. My parents helped (it was their truck we used to transfer the mattress), and received the chance to see what’s been accomplished so far with the house.
My parents then took Kevin and I out to dinner at Applebees were we enjoyed some nice conversation and sirloin! From there (lol), we used the money from scrapping to purchase a bed set for our new king-sized bed and dog supplies for Chewy.
And finally I’m at home, 12 hours after I started my day. I’m exhausted, yet I still have gifts to wrap for a baby shower I’m attending tomorrow and a bed to put sheets on. Thankfully Kevin bought me a bottle of Bailey’s Irish Cream, so I’m chilled out a little bit ![]()
Early bird
Posted on March 4th, 2010 in Web Development, Work | No Comments »After working until 10:30 last night, I had to be back at work at 8 AM this morning. I’m glad that last night when I came home, I hurried up and showered, then went to bed. Surprisingly I woke up before the alarm this morning, and I wasn’t struggling to wake up. I yawned all day, but I always yawn lol.
After work I stopped by Kevin’s and my soon-to-be house. Kevin, his dad, and our roommate were there. Things are coming along, but it’s still stressful as to what’s going to be done by the time we need to move out of our apartment. I at least want the drywall done in the living room, a working shower, and a working tub. Kevin’s more motivated to move in as soon as possible now because of the dog.
In fact, after the house we went out to dinner and grocery shopping, and at the store we picked up dog treats. We want to start buying little things here and there til the time comes that we can take him. Like I said, the sooner we can move into the house, the sooner we get the dog.
Oh! And I’m thinking of starting an e-zine for web development & design. What’d you think?
